This year Fèis Thiriodh will start with an afternoon walk:

SUNDAY 5 JULY | 3pm | Cuairt gu Haoidhnis
Walk Around Hynish

Township walk discovering the hidden stories about Hynish with
Dr John Holliday. Meet outside Morton Boyd House. We will walk around the lighthouse station, break for the famous Hynish teas and then continue to Lag na Cleite. Bring good shoes and your own stories! Weather permitting, of course.

EVENING EVENTS

MONDAY 6 JULY | 7pm | Biadh ’s Cèilidh | An Talla
Homecoming Supper & Ceilidh

A three course traditional meal followed by a ceilidh, to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns and Scotland’s Homecoming Year. Tickets are limited and booking is essential, available from MacLeod’s Shop or Paper.works - 220055

TUESDAY 7 JULY | 7.30pm | Filmichean Thiriodh | Rurual Centre
Tiree Film Night

An evening of archive film and television programmes from the 1930s to the 1980s, from the store rooms of An Iodhlann, Tiree’s historical centre. The Cobbled Cow Tearoom will be open selling refreshments.

Children’s Dance

Children’s Dance with Sileas Sinclair and her band.

Tutors’ Cèilidh

Spell-binding music, song, and a few stories from the week’s tutors.
Juice, crisps & raffle. It would be appreciated if parents would kindly supervise their own children.

FRIDAY 10 JULY | 10pm | Dannsa na Fèise | An Talla
Final Dance

Foot-stomping music with Tiree’s latest, hottest and youngest band,
Trail West. Raffle. 14’s & over only - please note that under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

WORKSHOPS/CLASSES

Workshops and classes through the week for children aged 9 and over plus adults will include - accordion, chanter/bagpipes, drumming, fiddle, Gaelic singing, Gaelic conversation, tin-whistle, Gaelic film making, dancing and shinty with a fantastic selection of well known visiting artists to tutor including Silleas Sinclair, John MacLeod,
Brian Graham, Calum MacCrimmon, Darren Reid and Christine MacIntyre along with our own Ishbel Campbell, Catiriona MacGregor, Iona Brown and John Angus MacKinnon.

Fèis Bheag will provide games, drama and music for the younger children (aged 5 – 8 years) through the medium of Gaelic.
